RABBITSNAKE
AUSTIN, TX
Rabbit Snake is a chimera of the street, an artist who builds familiarity through persistent, quiet presence. As the one who coined “BEWM For the People,” a phrase that now anchors our pro-social and mental health work, his connection to the BEWM mission is foundational.

Artistic Philosophy
Rabbit Snake moves through the street art world like a wise old owl: observant, patient, and quietly generous with what he knows. At his core, he is a kind and deeply empathetic person. His work is often guided by a desire to address real-world issues, including food insecurity and world hunger, using art as a way to spark awareness, conversation, and care.
Technique & Medium
Known for placing simple, instantly recognizable characters throughout cities, Rabbit Snake works through repetition rather than spectacle. The same figure appears again and again across different neighborhoods, gradually shifting from something noticed to something familiar. Over time, the work becomes part of the landscape and less of an interruption, more a presence. Much of Rabbit Snake’s work lives on the street in wheat paste form. Quick to install and impossible to fully control once released, the medium embraces impermanence and shared authorship. Weather, time, and the city itself become collaborators. While his work has traveled, fans can still spot his familiar characters across Austin neighborhoods like the East Side and South Congress.
Community Connection
Rabbit Snake was the first artist in residence at Art From The Streets, an Austin-based nonprofit that provides free art supplies, studio space, and community support to people experiencing homelessness. The program centers dignity, creative agency, and the belief that art can be a stabilizing force in people’s lives. That philosophy runs directly through Rabbit Snake’s own practice.
Background & Influence
Outside the street art world, Rabbit Snake is very much a Renaissance man. His understanding of performance, timing, and human attention; honed during his time as an "Outside Talker" and Substitute Escape Artist at the Coney Island Freak Show still echoes through his art, informing when to speak and when to let the silence of the street do the work. Rabbit Snake’s practice reflects a core principle of street art culture: Show up consistently. Respect the space. Trust the viewer. The result is art that feels less like branding and more like visual folklore. Characters that quietly settle into daily life and linger in memory.
In 2025, Meta approached RabbitSnake and asked if his art could be used to advertise the Facebook Dating App. After carefully examining Meta's business model and mission, Rabbitsnake could not consent. When Bewm Coffee called, Rabbitsnake tested the product (then made a bunch of art on it), read the mission statement, and analyzed the business model. His words: "Grade A in every category! I think what Absolut Vodka did with artists was interesting, but BEWM COFFEE is taking it to the next level. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BEWM!"
